About the Artist, Robyn Thomas
 
 


    Robyn Thomas graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia. Thomas earned a double-major in Illustration and Painting. A recipient of the Presidential Award through her five years at SCAD, Thomas was also awarded the 2003 Josh Z Yu Chinese Painting Scholarship, the 2003 Portraiture Scholarship from the Atlanta Chapter of ASOPA (American Society of Portrait Artists) as well as the Purchase Award in the 2004 SCAD Foundations Honor Show.

    Recent illustration projects include the republication of Felice Holman's "The Cricket Winter" published by Eerdman's Books for Young Readers in partnership with SCAD's Design Press. The book, released in the fall of 2006, received reviews from the Washington Post, November27, 2007; and Washington Parent Magazine, January 2007 issue.

    Thomas now resides in a little town called Grace, Idaho in the middle of potato country. Along with her work in the art field, she works part-time at Tigert Middle School and coaches Varsity volleyball at Soda Springs High School.
